About the Opportunity

As a Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist at Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

You will be working alongside a team of professionals to assess patients and provide high-quality ultrasound examinations using state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested, adhering to departmental standards and techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians to interpret results and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of patient data and examination findings.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist who possesses:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Sonography Canada certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting.
  • Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, as well as General Electric Vivid E95, is an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Work Environment

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring shift work, including evenings, with the possibility of weekends. The hourly rate is $34.24 - $39.96, with eligibility for a Market Adjustment of approximately $.23 biweekly. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
