About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals for various diagnostic procedures and therapies.

Under the supervision of the Manager, you will work independently to perform complex computer manipulations and analysis, ensuring the highest standard of healthcare is provided to patients. This includes adapting procedures to meet individual needs, while maintaining quality assurance standards for radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures and therapies.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation.
  • Adapt procedures to meet individual patient needs.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and unusual circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly. Shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends, is mandatory. The hourly salary range is $34.24 - $39.96, with opportunities for benefits and professional growth.
