About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. in Crescent Valley, BC. As a Loader Operator, you will play a critical role in our road construction and materials manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Operate a wash plant, maintaining a safe and quality-minded approach.
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate, and refill as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, adhering to company standards.
  • Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate in and adhere to the company safety program, promoting a positive and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team and company objectives.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized, and possess the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Capable of working collaboratively with team members and management in a physically demanding and fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including lubricating, belt splicing, cleaning, etc.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more, work in extreme weather conditions, confined spaces, and heights, and possess the required PPE and steel-toed work shoes.
  • First Aid and WHMIS certificates are considered an asset.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
