Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host to join our team at Bar Sofia. As a Host, you will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience from the moment they arrive at our establishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Flow Management: Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Communication: Communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
  • Guest Seating: Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
  • Reservation Management: Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in our system.
  • Shift Briefings: Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of upcoming events and special requests.
  • Restaurant Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of the restaurant trade area, including location, surroundings, and nearby attractions.
  • Front of House Maintenance: Ensure that the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
  • Server Support: Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section.
  • Special Requests: Fill out detailed special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing checks regularly throughout the shift.
  • Food Safety: Follow all food safety standards and systems.
Qualifications
  • Passion for Hospitality: A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive guest experience.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Organizational Skills: Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, with restaurant experience considered an asset.
