Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host to join our team at Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants. As a Host, you will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience from the moment they arrive at our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage reservations and walk-ins to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.
- Communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant and ensure that all guests receive exceptional service.
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.
- Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of upcoming events, special requests, and other important information.
- Stay up-to-date on the restaurant trade area, including local attractions, directions, and other relevant information.
- Maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, including the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas, to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for our guests.
- Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section to ensure efficient service.
- Follow all food safety standards and systems to ensure the health and safety of our guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to ensure the success of our restaurant.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service position, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality or a related field, or currently pursuing one.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management.
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
