Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host to join our team at Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants. As a Host, you will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience by managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity, and communicating with all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
  • Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in our system.
  • Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of upcoming events and special requests.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the restaurant trade area, including location, surroundings, and nearby attractions.
  • Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
  • Maintain awareness of which servers are in each section and ensure accurate table assignments.
  • Fulfill special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing regular checks throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, with restaurant experience considered an asset.
