Role Overview:
As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in facilitating seamless communication across various stakeholders in the healthcare environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of administrative duties, including:
- Reception and greeting of visitors, patients, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining and organizing patient records and charts.
- Transcribing and processing physician orders.
- Coordinating patient tests and treatments.
- Performing diverse administrative tasks to support the nursing unit.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a Unit Clerk course.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Connect Care.
- Exceptional ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Capability to manage stressful situations effectively.
- Previous experience as a unit clerk in an acute medical setting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including walking, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
