Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Shift Engineer - Third Class to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining a high-pressure, high-temperature primary combined cycle power plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centers, and related auxiliary equipment.
  • Work under the direction of the Shift Engineer - Second Class to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the Power Plant team to achieve operational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 plus three years' recent related experience in a second-class industrial plant.
  • Third (3rd) Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
