Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Shift Engineer - Third Class to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, repair, and maintain a high-pressure, high-temperature primary combined cycle power plant, ensuring compliance with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations.
- Work under the direction of the Shift Engineer - Second Class to manage the operations of boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centers, and related auxiliary equipment.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve optimal plant performance, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 plus three years' recent experience in a second-class industrial plant.
- Third (3rd) Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
