Job Title: Hybrid Wholesaler, Business Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hybrid Wholesaler, Business Development to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating sales and developing new business opportunities while servicing and managing existing clients. This role requires a strong understanding of our products and services, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors and other stakeholders
  • Provide product knowledge and support to advisors to help them grow their business
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve sales objectives
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity

Requirements:

  • BA, Commerce or Economics and/or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the financial industry
  • Sales experience required
  • Bilingual in English and French is an advantage
  • Completion of CSC and/or IFIC certification
  • Individual contributor who excels in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Completion is preferred, but at minimum, the successful candidate must be enrolled in an industry designation program (CIM, CFA, CFP, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to keep up-to-date on past, current and future trends in the financial services industry
  • Pro-active, self-starter with the ability to use their initiative in maximizing sales
  • Ability to travel extensively
