Position Overview:

As a Health and Safety Specialist at EM Dynamics, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position offers an opportunity to engage deeply with health and safety practices, providing valuable experience in risk management, incident analysis, and the development of safety initiatives. Collaborate with experienced professionals to cultivate a culture of safety and well-being within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams and plant MESH Champions to ensure adherence to both local and corporate safety standards.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing key EHS programs, including emergency preparedness, operation of powered industrial vehicles, lockout/tagout procedures, fall protection strategies, waste management practices, and machine safety protocols.
  • Organize activities to prepare for EHS audits, including coaching sessions for staff and management, scheduling, venue arrangements, and conducting Gemba walks.
  • Support the plant's Joint Health and Safety Committee by assisting in the resolution of identified hazards.
  • Facilitate and deliver health and safety training sessions for both production and administrative personnel.
  • Engage in plant 5S+ initiatives, LEAN events, and weekly EHS-related improvement activities.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of first aid kits, eyewash stations, safety showers, and spill response kits.
  • Input incident data into the corporate tracking system, Prism.
  • Maintain both hard copy and electronic records related to EHS.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Health and Safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support team members in promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions focused on Health and Safety topics.
  • Help maintain accurate health and safety records.
  • Perform data entry to monitor training compliance.

  • Experience in manufacturing is essential.
  • Experience with 5S methodologies is essential.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Completed at least one year in a relevant academic program.
