Compensation Structure

Marker-Grader positions offer compensation based on the qualifications of the individual:

  • Master's Degree Complete ($ - for those who have earned a master's degree)
  • Undergraduate Degree Complete ($ - for holders of a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree)
  • Third Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree)
  • Second Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree)
  • First Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree)

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities associated with this position will align with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The marker-grader will:

  • Evaluate assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and final examinations.
  • Provide constructive written feedback to students, clearly articulating the rationale behind the assigned grades, which may include aspects of content quality and written communication skills such as spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall organization.
  • Possibly supervise mid-terms and examinations or input grades into databases as requested by the course instructor.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of COSC 2P89 (or an equivalent course) with a minimum grade of 80%.
  • A degree or major in Computer Science with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Previous experience as a Marker/Grader is advantageous.
