Compensation Structure
Compensation for Marker-Grader positions is determined based on the qualifications held by the employee:
- Master's Degree Complete ($ - for those who have completed a master's degree)
- Undergraduate Degree Complete ($ - for those who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree)
- Third Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree)
- Second Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree)
- First Year Complete ($ - for those who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree)
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities associated with this position will align with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The Marker-Grader is tasked with evaluating assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. They must provide constructive written feedback to students, clearly outlining the criteria for the assigned grades, which may include content quality and written communication aspects such as spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure.
Additionally, the Marker-Grader may be required to supervise midterms and examinations for the course or input grades into databases upon the course instructor's request.
Qualifications
- Completion of COSC 2P89 (or an equivalent course) with a minimum grade of 80%
- Graduation or major in Computer Science with a minimum major average of 75%
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines effectively
- Previous experience as a Marker/Grader is advantageous
