Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Performance Engineer, you will:
  • Oversee a specialized team focused on Protection & Control (P&C) engineering needs.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and internal stakeholders, ensuring the quality and safety of our transmission and distribution systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of relay calculations and settings.
  • Offer technical assistance to field teams and develop protection studies.
  • Conduct fault analysis calculations to ensure optimal coordination of substation relays.
  • Investigate protection performance during operational disturbances and prepare detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of distribution assets.
  • Support the Distribution Automation system and ensure compliance with Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS).
  • Participate in the Senior-On-Call rotation, managing incident responses effectively.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (Eng) status with APEGA.
  • Over 10 years of experience in utility protection and control, with significant experience in developing protection settings.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as CYME, CAPE, and Mathcad.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A commitment to safety and compliance with ENMAX policies and standards.
