Carpenter - Building Foundations for Success

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Ridgetechone Reinforcing Corp. as a key member of our construction team.
Key Responsibilities- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Carefully examine blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate construction.
- Prepare and Construct Building Foundations: Use measuring tools to prepare layouts in conformance to building codes and construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create high-quality structures.
- Maintain and Repair Buildings: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
- On-Site Work: This role requires working on-site, often in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Cultural Competency Training: Participate in diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship Programs: Engage in mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees, promoting social and labour market integration.
- Foreign Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition, facilitating their transition into the Canadian workforce.
- Cultural Awareness Training: Participate in cultural competency training and awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Engage in mentorship and coaching opportunities for Indigenous workers, promoting their growth and development.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations, fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures and perspectives.
- Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives: Participate in diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting a welcoming work environment for visible minorities.
- Mentorship Programs: Engage in mentorship programs that pair visible minorities with experienced employees, fostering their growth and development.
- Permanent Full-Time Position: This is a permanent, full-time position with a regular 40-hour workweek.
- English Language: English is the primary language used in this role, with opportunities for language training and support.
