The City of Iqaluit is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering strong relationships with residents, organizations, and stakeholders within our vibrant community.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging communication strategies to keep the public informed about city initiatives, projects, and events.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and consultations to gather feedback and perspectives from residents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, businesses, and media outlets to promote collaboration and understanding.
- Prepare clear and concise reports on community engagement activities and outcomes for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of Inuit culture and traditions is an asset.
