Position Overview

Your Role

In this position, you will be engaged in the design and execution of power transmission projects across North America. We seek a seasoned professional who is eager to take on leadership responsibilities and mentor junior engineers. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your project management skills while contributing to impactful energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Execution: Lead the engineering of power transmission projects from initial concept through to construction. This includes preparing detailed engineering deliverables such as design criteria, line layouts, structural configurations, and material selection.
  • Modeling and Analysis: Utilize advanced software tools for transmission line modeling and analysis, ensuring optimal design and performance of transmission structures.
  • Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical reports, project scopes, and construction documents, ensuring clarity and precision in all deliverables.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and contractors, facilitating discussions to ensure successful project implementation.

Business Development:

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance project execution and visibility in the marketplace.
  • Engage with clients to share insights and innovations, bolstering Stantec's reputation in the industry.

Mentorship:

  • Inspire and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing support on technical topics and advocating for the development of less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng or PE) designation in North America.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission line design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and a solid understanding of industry standards.
