Talent Acquisition Specialist
ALS is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Human Resources team as a Talent Acquisition Specialist. This role is essential in supporting our recruitment efforts across Eastern Canada, ensuring that we attract and retain top talent to meet our operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete recruitment process from start to finish.
- Collaborate with business leaders to create effective job descriptions and postings.
- Conduct targeted job searches to fulfill position requirements.
- Serve as a primary contact for prospective candidates, ensuring a positive and engaging experience.
- Develop and refine interview guides that align with our organizational culture and required competencies.
- Screen applications, perform initial phone interviews, and assist in the final selection process.
- Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.
- Facilitate reference checks and manage candidate referrals.
- Promote job opportunities through various channels, including job fairs and community partnerships.
- Prepare and extend job offers to selected candidates.
- Oversee the distribution and management of onboarding documentation for new hires.
- Ensure compliance with recruitment policies and procedures to maintain consistency.
- Assist HR leadership in developing and executing workforce plans.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new employees in collaboration with regional HR teams.
- Support initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.
- Respond to external inquiries regarding personnel information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Ensure recruitment materials and resources are current.
- Contribute to internal communication efforts and HR intranet content.
- Participate in various HR projects as needed.
- Adhere to safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
About You:
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong focus on customer service, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to exercise judgment, creativity, and integrity in problem-solving.
- Proficient in utilizing various social media platforms for recruitment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
- Fluency in French is considered an asset.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Capable of managing urgent issues and escalations effectively.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- HR designation (CPHR) or recruitment certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR or talent acquisition.
- Previous experience in customer service or office administration is an advantage.
