We are currently in search of a Lead Property Claims Consultant to join our team.

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will report to the Senior Claims Manager, focusing on commercial property claims that present moderate to high levels of exposure and complexity. Your primary objective will be to ensure claims are managed efficiently and effectively while providing a customer-focused service.

Key Duties Include:

  • Accurately documenting claims files by capturing and updating relevant data in accordance with established Best Practices.
  • Exercising sound judgment to verify policy coverage and determine applicable claims by analyzing relevant information.
  • Developing case strategies to achieve timely resolutions, including case evaluations and appropriate issue escalation.
  • Establishing and reviewing reserves throughout the claims process, ensuring compliance with authority limits.
  • Meeting quality standards by adhering to Best Practices.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service through proactive communication and responsiveness to inquiries.
  • Managing expenses by collaborating with approved vendors and overseeing the scope of work assigned to external contractors.
  • Contributing to profitable growth by providing insights and trends to the Business Unit or clients as necessary.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and staying updated on industry trends.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Claims or Insurance sector.
  • Alternatively, completion of a Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program, including an Associate Degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of the Zurich Claims Training Program with 3 years of experience in Claims or Insurance.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the Claims or Insurance field.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary adjuster licenses.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products.

Preferred:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience in team collaboration and building cross-functional relationships.
  • Adept at explaining complex financial and actuarial concepts.
  • Ability to assess the scope and exposure of moderately complex claims.
  • Understanding of the reserving process for indemnity and expenses.
  • Capability to develop and implement negotiation strategies for claim resolutions.
  • Skill in identifying nuances in client and business partner interactions.
  • Proficiency in presenting information necessary for proposing claim resolutions to stakeholders.
