Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing design, guidance, counseling, implementation, analysis, and assessment work in one or more social programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement social programs to meet the needs of our clients;
  • Provide guidance and counseling to individuals and families;
  • Conduct analysis and assessment of social programs to identify areas for improvement;
  • Develop and implement strategies to address psychosocial issues;
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support services;
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and community members;
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in social work and Cree culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ);
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in social work;
  • Knowledge of Cree culture, social/health issues, and Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset;
  • Fluent in English; fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
