Job Title: Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing design, guidance, counseling, implementation, analysis, and assessment work in one or more social programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement social programs that address the needs of our community;
  • Provide counseling and guidance to clients, focusing on psychosocial issues and cultural sensitivity;
  • Analyze and assess client needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for support;
  • Communicate theoretical and practical knowledge to coaching and training teams;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective teamwork and coordination;
  • Stay up-to-date with Cree culture, social/health issues, and Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ);
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in social work;
  • Fluent in English; Cree or French fluency is an asset.
