Position Overview

In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Director of Trading and Risk Technology, the Senior Manager will oversee the implementation and maintenance of trading systems utilized by the Global Capital Markets investment division. This individual will be instrumental in translating the strategic vision of Global Capital Markets into actionable requirements, enhancing trading capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be tasked with:

  • Formulating and executing the technology strategy to bolster the Global Capital Markets trading division, integrating new capabilities and vendor solutions while adhering to established technology architecture standards.
  • Leading a dedicated team focused on facilitating trading operations within the Capital Markets trading desk.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture by recruiting, mentoring, and guiding a team of professionals aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  • Overseeing the advancement of trading systems, including the development, configuration, and support of both vendor solutions and proprietary trading systems.
  • Expanding trading capabilities to global markets while ensuring the sustainability and flexibility of systems over time.
  • Collaborating closely with the Global Capital Markets research team to seamlessly integrate trade order management with execution processes.
  • Coordinating daily activities that support the operations of the trading desk.
  • Independently managing project specifications, technical implementations, schedules, and documentation to create scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Analyzing complex trading and settlement requirements for cash products, proposing efficient solutions while advancing key strategies such as Data Management.
  • Identifying inefficiencies in Information Services practices and recommending enhancements to support Public Market Investments (PMI) trading.
  • Working collaboratively with technology and business partners to maintain and support a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Managing relationships with strategic vendors, including Bloomberg.
  • Providing both technical and functional expertise to drive initiatives forward.
  • Building strong relationships across investment and operations teams to establish priorities and provide regular status updates.
  • Partnering with investment departments to design and implement necessary business processes for new trading activities.
  • Developing strong partnerships across the firm to align the objectives of Information Services with Public Market Investments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an Agile work environment.
  • At least three years of experience in supporting and enhancing trading systems and transaction processing.
  • CFA or MBA credentials are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Java, SQL, and UNIX.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Position Order Management System, Quantify, PC-Bond, and similar trading applications.
  • Experience across various Capital Markets functions is a plus.
