Position Overview

The Senior Manager will report directly to the Director of Trading and Risk Technology. This role is pivotal in overseeing the implementation and maintenance of trading systems utilized by the Global Capital Markets investment division. The ideal candidate will adeptly translate the strategic objectives of the Global Capital Markets into actionable requirements, fostering new trading capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be tasked with:

  • Formulating and executing a technology strategy that supports the trading operations of the Global Capital Markets group, balancing the development of new capabilities with the integration of vendor solutions while adhering to established technology standards.
  • Leading a dedicated team focused on enhancing trading functionalities for the Capital Markets trading desk.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and cultivating a high-performing team that aligns with the organization’s business objectives.
  • Overseeing the evolution of trading systems, including the management of vendor solutions and proprietary systems to ensure optimal functionality for users.
  • Facilitating the expansion of trading capabilities across global markets while ensuring the sustainability and flexibility of systems.
  • Collaborating closely with the Global Capital Markets research team to synchronize trade order management with execution processes.
  • Coordinating daily operations related to the trading desk’s activities.
  • Independently developing project specifications, implementation plans, and documentation to create scalable solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Analyzing complex trading and settlement requirements for cash products, proposing efficient solutions while advancing key strategies, including Data Management.
  • Identifying inefficiencies in Information Services practices and recommending enhancements to support Public Market Investments trading.
  • Engaging with technology staff and business partners to ensure effective support and maintenance of the growing operational environment.
  • Managing relationships with key vendors, including Bloomberg, to enhance service delivery.
  • Providing technical and functional insights to drive initiatives forward.
  • Building strong relationships across investment and operations teams to establish priorities and provide regular updates.
  • Partnering with investment departments to design and implement necessary business processes for new trading activities.
  • Fostering collaboration with various partners to align the objectives of Information Services with Public Market Investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an Agile work environment.
  • At least three years of experience in supporting and enhancing trading systems.
  • CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Java, SQL, and UNIX.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Position Order Management System and similar trading applications.
  • Experience across various Capital Markets functions is advantageous.
