Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of Trading and Risk Technology, the Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery and maintenance of trading systems utilized by the Global Capital Markets investment division. This role requires the ability to convert the business strategy of Global Capital Markets into actionable requirements for developing new trading functionalities to meet the evolving demands of the organization, while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be tasked with:

  • Establishing and executing the technology strategy to support the trading operations of Global Capital Markets, which includes developing new capabilities and integrating vendor solutions in line with established technology architecture standards.
  • Leading a dedicated team that facilitates trading activities for the Capital Markets trading desk.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and nurturing a team of high-caliber professionals focused on aligning with the organization’s business objectives.
  • Enhancing the trading systems by managing the development, configuration, and support of both vendor solutions and proprietary trading systems, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to deliver client functionality.
  • Facilitating the expansion of trading capabilities across global markets while ensuring systems remain adaptable and sustainable long-term.
  • Collaborating with the Global Capital Markets research team to seamlessly integrate trade order management with execution processes.
  • Coordinating daily operations to support the trading desk's activities.
  • Independently crafting and executing project specifications, implementation plans, schedules, and documentation to create scalable and sustainable solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Evaluating complex trading and settlement requirements for cash products to propose efficient handling solutions while advancing key strategies such as Data Management.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of Information Services practices to enhance service delivery for Public Market Investments trading.
  • Collaborating extensively with technology teams and business partners to maintain and support the rapidly evolving trading environment.
  • Managing relationships with key vendors, including Bloomberg.
  • Providing both technical and functional expertise to drive initiatives forward.
  • Building strong connections with investment and operations teams to prioritize and communicate status updates regularly.
  • Partnering with investment departments to design and implement necessary business processes to support new trading activities from initiation to settlement.
  • Fostering strong relationships across the firm to align the objectives of Information Services with Public Market Investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an Agile work environment.
  • At least three years of experience in supporting and enhancing trading systems and transaction processing.
  • CFA or MBA credentials are advantageous.
  • Proven technical skills, particularly in Java, SQL, and UNIX.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Position Order Management System, Quantify, PC-Bond, and similar trading applications.
  • Experience across various Capital Markets functions is a plus.
