Job Summary:

Homewood Health Centre Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Adult Community Psychiatrist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our mental health organization, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients with mental health and addiction disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychology, nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy, to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in mental health and addiction treatment, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPS) or equivalent body acceptable to the RCPS (C) and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and influence, with proven critical thinking, analysis, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in fostering integrated care involving both mental health and addictions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital.
