We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our team as an Adult Inpatient Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult inpatients with mental health disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct daily rounds and provide ongoing supervision and management of clinical/patient care.
- Collaborate with other physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, and discharge summary.
- Provide clinical guidance to the program and admitting department for appropriate and timely referrals and admissions.
- Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained.
- Support colleagues with patient coverage during physician absences.
- Complete and submit OHIP billings in a timely manner.
- Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPS) or equivalent body acceptable to the RCPS (C) and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Strong ability to create exceptional relationships with clients, patients, and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed organizational and time-management skills.
- Passion for excellent patient-centered and clinical care.
- Expertise in fostering integrated care involving both mental health and addictions.
- Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital.
