Job Summary:

Homewood Health Centre Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult In-Patient Psychiatrist to join our interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients with mental health disorders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychology, nursing, social work, and allied health professionals, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy, to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements:

  • Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPS) or equivalent body acceptable to the RCPS (C) and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and influence, with proven critical thinking, analysis, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in fostering integrated care involving both mental health and addictions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital.
