Position Overview:


An exceptional opportunity is available within the Central Zone for a Speech Language Pathologist tasked with managing adult patients facing challenges related to swallowing and communication.

Services will be delivered across multiple rural communities within the Central Zone, encompassing a full spectrum of care:
acute care hospital settings, long-term care facilities, and outpatient services. This role necessitates collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in each community to effectively manage caseloads and ensure optimal service delivery. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for success in this position.

Effective clinical judgment and critical thinking, coupled with the capacity to devise innovative solutions for intricate challenges, are also vital in this role.

The Central Zone SLP service operates as a multisite program, and locations may be adjusted based on program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will engage in clinical practice both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team, which may include external stakeholders.

You will be accountable for delivering prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management services.

Your role will involve participating in the planning, coordination, and execution of rehabilitation services in partnership with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals, and other collaborators.

Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be instrumental in supervising students and providing clinical mentorship to other staff as necessary.

You will leverage your clinical expertise to contribute to ongoing quality enhancement, service integration, and program advancement.

Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in the assessment and treatment of adult clients with swallowing and communication challenges.
