Position Overview:


Unit 35 offers a distinctive opportunity to serve as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant within a specialized neurology/stroke and physical rehabilitation environment.

As an integral member of a multidisciplinary team that encompasses various Nursing and Allied Health professionals, the Therapy Assistant on Unit 35 plays a vital role in assisting patients in regaining their previous levels of functioning, with the ultimate aim of facilitating their return to home and family life.


Role Responsibilities:


In the capacity of a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant, you will collaborate both independently and as part of an interprofessional team under the guidance, assessment, and oversight of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist, or speech-language pathologist.

Your contributions will be essential in delivering effective and efficient rehabilitation services, which include both direct and indirect client care across the healthcare spectrum (promoting healthy living, recovery, managing chronic conditions, and end-of-life care) for individuals of all ages, in addition to non-client service activities.

This position necessitates effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, while demonstrating professionalism and strong ethical standards in client-centered care and teamwork.

You will be expected to exhibit reflective thinking and a commitment to lifelong learning that enhances both personal and team competencies.

Additionally, you will have the chance to apply your interpersonal and clinical skills in initiatives aimed at quality improvement, program development, and supervision of students.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:
As required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in neurology and stroke care is preferred. Experience in rehabilitation settings is also preferred.
