Position Overview
MACDONNELL is in search of a dynamic and seasoned Business Development Executive to spearhead sponsorship and exhibition space sales for multiple prestigious events throughout North America. These events are recognized for their credibility and support from leading private sector and government entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Forge and nurture partnerships with sponsors and exhibitors to achieve and surpass sales revenue goals.
- Engage in proactive outreach to potential sponsors and exhibitors, effectively communicating the advantages of participating in our events.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the sponsorship and exhibition sectors.
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential sponsors and secure financial backing from commercial organizations.
- Manage ongoing communication with sponsorship contacts to understand their promotional strategies.
- Oversee floorplan management and the allocation of exhibition booth spaces.
- Stay informed about market trends and identify new opportunities for growth in sales.
- Ensure meticulous completion of all sales administration tasks, including correspondence and database management.
- Represent the company at industry events as needed.
- Provide on-site support during event setup, operation, and breakdown, assisting clients with their requirements.
- Compile and present sales plans and reports as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of achieving sales success.
- Exceptional ability to build rapport with both potential and existing clients.
- Proficient in independently sourcing and closing new business opportunities.
- Experience in selling sponsorships and exhibition space is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational capabilities.
- Resourceful and innovative thinker.
- Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Composed and effective under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the port, transportation, maritime, or security sectors is advantageous, though candidates with relevant transferable skills will also be considered.
- Fluency in French or Spanish is a plus.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in exploring market opportunities and comfortable engaging with key decision-makers in international organizations. A confident individual who can make a high volume of quality sales calls daily, the candidate should be adept at engaging prospects and crafting compelling proposals.
