About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Executive to join our team at MacDonnell. As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors and exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Selling to existing and potential sponsors and exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
  • Cold calling prospects and selling the benefits of sponsoring or exhibiting at our events.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key sponsors and exhibitors.
  • Researching potential sponsors and securing financial sponsorship from commercial organizations.
  • Maintaining telephone contact with key sponsorship contacts to establish their promotional strategies.
  • Floorplan management and allocation of expo booth space.
  • Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
  • Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard, including letter writing and keeping databases up-to-date.
  • Attending industry functions when required.
  • Working onsite during the build-up, open period, and breakdown of all the shows, actively helping clients with their onsite requirements.
  • Collating and producing sales plans and reports as required.

Requirements

  • Excellent track record of sales success.
  • Ability to build rapport with potential and existing clients.
  • The ability to independently source and close new business.
  • Experience in selling sponsorships and exhibition space.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and think laterally.
  • The ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • To work calmly under pressure.

Advantageous

  • Previous experience in the port, transportation, maritime, and security business is desirable, but candidates with relevant transferable skills and experiences may be considered.
  • Fluency in French or Spanish would be an advantage.

Personal Skills/Attributes

The ideal candidate will be proactive in exploring the universe of the market they are working on and comfortable engaging key decision-makers in international companies. They will have the confidence and ability to make a high volume of high-quality sales calls on a daily basis, engage prospects, and create quality proposals. The candidate must have the ability to listen to the prospect and employ a consultative sales approach, well-researched on every call, and require an intelligent, engaging approach.
