In this role, you will:


• Oversee the assessment and coordination of counterparty enablement requests once all regulatory documentation has been validated and completed.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various Derivative, Money Market, and FX products, along with the documentation necessary for counterparty enablement in compliance with relevant regulations.

• Collaborate with existing counterparty setup operations teams and various business units to resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies.

• Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage broader organizational relationships, systems, and knowledge.

• Assist the Assistant Manager/Manager/Senior Manager in driving successful execution and completion of client onboarding in a controlled and timely manner across GBM Canada.

• Provide precise and comprehensive management information regarding status, risks, and issues within the process, and escalate any identified control weaknesses.

• Support relevant remediation initiatives as assigned, including planning, tracking, execution, and the development of robust processes, training materials, and procedural documentation.

• Identify trends and errors, proposing enhancements to processes and databases to improve overall efficiency.

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should influence daily activities and decision-making.

• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations within their respective areas, adhering to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of daily business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

• Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Do you possess the skills that will enable you to excel in this role? – We would be excited to work with you if you have:


• 3-5 years of experience in the financial services sector.

• A university degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

• PMP or CAMs designation or relevant experience is an asset.


• The ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines that are closely monitored by Senior/Executive Management.

• A solid understanding of global banking and capital markets, coupled with a client-focused approach to the role. The incumbent should have a broad knowledge of end-to-end workflows among Front, Middle, and Back Offices.

• Business acumen, sound judgment, and critical thinking skills are essential.

• Excellent oral and written communication, relationship management, and time management skills are required.

• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in creating executive-level presentations.

• A quick learner with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to effectively frame and structure complex issues, developing insights and recommendations.

• A change agent with high energy, demonstrating a strong ability to work under pressure, navigate ambiguities, and drive results.

• Strong communication, organizational, project management, and planning skills.
