About the Role

Cooke Aquaculture is seeking a highly skilled Global Server Infrastructure Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's global server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Server Infrastructure Management: Maintain and optimize our global server infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Proactively monitor and report on server environment issues, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Hardware and Software Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing action plans for resolution.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage server backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning: Function as a subject matter expert for performance tuning and capacity planning, ensuring our server infrastructure meets the needs of the organization.
  • Security and Stability: Ensure the security and stability of our server environment, implementing measures to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure our server infrastructure meets the needs of the organization, and train and mentor junior systems analysts.
  • Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our server infrastructure and operations.
  • Server Standards and Documentation: Enforce server standards, guidelines, and best practices, creating and maintaining server documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
  • After-Hours Support: Provide after-hours support and on-call support as required, ensuring our server infrastructure remains available and secure.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in server administration and management.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems, experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated self-starter, able to prioritize tasks and stay organized, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
