Job Title: Track Design Engineering Lead
Job Summary:
Parsons Oman is seeking an experienced Senior Track Engineer to join our Rail and Transit division as a Track Engineering Design Lead. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in track design for large-scale transit projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the design and alignment of track infrastructure for various transit systems using advanced design software.
- Responsible for leading internal Designers and Engineers with a primary focus on managing the track design and resolving technical challenges to reach a design solution that meets all requirements.
- Prepare detailed engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective design coordination across disciplines and participate in design coordination meetings to address critical issues.
- Mentor and develop junior-intermediate track staff, providing functional guidance and support to enhance technical and non-technical skills.
- Review and approve shop drawings and technical documentation, implementing railway systems and procedures to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and safe project delivery.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, develop and verify technical scopes, and assist with budget and schedule planning and management.
- Lead the Project Team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality rail transportation projects on time, meeting client expectations and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering typically preferred);
- Designation as a Professional Engineer in Oman;
- 8+ years experience with track design engineering for large-scale rail transit systems including Class I Railways, LRT, or Commuter Rail;
- Demonstrated experience in the design of rail alignments, special trackwork, junctions, yards, and facilities;
- Experience in design-build contract delivery is an asset;
- Detailed understanding of local authorities' codes and design standards;
- Strong capabilities in advanced design software, including AutoCAD Civil3D and OpenRail Designer;
- Demonstrated experience on large-scale interdisciplinary projects with track design leadership responsibilities and interface with civil, utilities, and systems engineering;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English;
- Organizational and mentoring skills;
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and accuracy in work.
