About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join our team at SAFFA Engineering Inc. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and development of our engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Assist in the development of engineering specifications and drawings, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards and regulations.
  • Project Support: Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations to gather data and information for project development.
  • Technical Services: Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates, as well as engineering designs and drawings.
  • Project Scheduling: Prepare project schedules and timelines to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Field Surveys and Inspections: Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations, and testing of construction materials to ensure that they meet the required standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Support for Youths: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, and provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities.
  • Support for Veterans: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, and provide staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, and offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
