Senior Track Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Track Design Manager to join our Rail and Transit division as a Track Design Engineering Lead. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in track design for large-scale transit projects.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and lead the design and alignment of track infrastructure for various transit systems using advanced design software.
- Lead internal designers and engineers in managing track design and resolving technical challenges to meet project requirements and standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective design coordination across disciplines and participate in design coordination meetings to address critical issues.
- Mentor and develop junior-intermediate track staff, providing functional guidance and support to enhance technical and non-technical skills.
- Review and approve shop drawings and technical documentation, implementing railway systems and procedures to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and safe project delivery.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, develop and verify technical scopes, and assist with budget and schedule planning and management.
- Lead the project team to ensure successful delivery of high-quality rail transportation projects on time, meeting client expectations and objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering typically preferred).
- Designation as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- 8+ years of experience with track design engineering for large-scale rail transit systems, including Class I Railways, LRT, or Commuter Rail.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of rail alignments, special trackwork, junctions, yards, and facilities.
- Experience in design-build contract delivery is an asset.
- Detailed understanding of local authorities' codes and design standards.
- Strong capabilities in AutoCAD Civil3D Subassembly Composer, Dynamo, and Navisworks for BIM interface.
- Strong capabilities in OpenRail Designer - MicroStation.
- Demonstrated experience on large-scale interdisciplinary projects with track design leadership responsibilities and interface with civil, utilities, and systems engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Organizational and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and accuracy in work.
