Senior Structural Engineer at Morrison Hershfield

Morrison Hershfield, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading transportation structure projects, conducting inspections, and supervising site visits.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead project management, structural design, and inspection tasks for transportation projects
  • Conduct thorough inspections of transportation structures and supervise biennial inspection tasks
  • Lead site visits to gather information and review pre-construction and post-construction activities
  • Coordinate with clients and various disciplines to ensure project execution
  • Analyze and design transportation structures according to applicable standards and regulations
  • Provide guidance to project teams, review deliverables, and prepare technical reports
  • Offer recommendations on maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of structures
  • Participate in business development by liaising with clients and preparing proposals
  • Attend team meetings and ensure project requirements are met within set parameters
  • Flexible availability for work hours and travel is expected
  • Complete health and safety documentation as required
Qualifications:
  • BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with a focus on bridge engineering
  • P. Eng. designation and extensive experience in leading transportation structure projects
  • RAQS eligible for bridge engineering inspections
  • Proficiency in various inspection and design software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in project management and team supervision
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude towards work
