Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Plasma Associate to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ont team.
The Collections Operations Ont team is responsible for collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable the production of life-saving products. In this role, you will be responsible for performing assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process, as defined by standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process, ensuring their needs are met and they are engaged throughout the process.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Utilize superior interpersonal and communication skills to greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process in an engaging and positive manner.
- Phlebotomy: Apply experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort, and providing post-donation care and instruction.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure completeness of information in our IT system for products, complete the labelling process for products, and prepare products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to our testing facilities.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
- Education: Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs, knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
