About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team as a Plasma Operations Specialist/Phlebotomy Process Lead. This role is responsible for supporting the collection of plasma in a safe and efficient manner to enable the production of life-saving products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process, adhering to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate, coordinate, and support team members to maximize operational effectiveness and donor experience.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs, maintain training records, and mentor staff in best practices for safe, efficient, and effective customer service and operations.
- Assist the Plasma Centre Manager with activities to ensure smooth operations, as needed.
Requirements
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline, preferably in science or health-related field of study.
- A minimum of three years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Completion of a formal training program in phlebotomy.
- Deep understanding of plasma operations processes, policies, procedural requirements, and equipment.
- Experience with current Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and foster positive relationships with peers, manager, and other team members.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and multitask.
- Strong judgment, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality skills.
