About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Plasma Associate to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ontario team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the collection of plasma in a safe and efficient manner, enabling the production of life-saving products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and collect plasma from donors, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, ensuring a positive and engaging experience throughout the collection process.
- Monitor donors for safety and comfort, and provide post-donation care and instruction.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of donor information and product details in our IT system.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice standards and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, preferably in science or health-related fields.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
