Job Summary:
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist (Plasma Associate) to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ont team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable the production of life-saving products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort, and providing post-donation care and instruction.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills to promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process.
- Apply knowledge of continuous improvement to contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
- Ensure completeness of information in our IT system for products, when completing the labelling process for products, and when preparing products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to our testing facilities.
Requirements:
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
