Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Retail Store Supervisor to oversee operations in our vibrant retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Retail Store Supervisor (RSS) will manage the front store operations, ensuring compliance with Neighbourly Pharmacy policies while fostering a professional atmosphere and supervising retail staff.

Store Management

  1. Lead initiatives to meet the store's strategic goals.
  2. Engage in professional development activities relevant to current and future roles.
  3. Guarantee outstanding customer service at all times.
  4. Enhance the Neighbourly Pharmacy brand through participation in industry events and associations.
  5. Uphold the Neighbourly Pharmacy policy manual to cultivate a workplace that attracts and retains talented employees.
  6. Ensure all staff adhere to store policies and take corrective actions when necessary.
  7. Oversee processes related to returns, complaints, security, and employee discounts.
  8. Manage cash handling, daily reporting, banking, and deposits.
  9. Ensure proper store opening and closing procedures are followed.
  10. Maintain store cleanliness and ensure compliance with housekeeping standards.
  11. Project a warm and service-oriented image to customers.
  12. Build strong relationships within the local business community.
  13. Ensure all areas of the front store are well-maintained and professional.

Staff Management

  1. Supervise front store personnel in all operational aspects.
  2. Train staff to ensure compliance with job descriptions.
  3. Coordinate work schedules for front store employees.
  4. Oversee daily operations of front store staff.
  5. Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring, discipline, and termination processes.
  6. Ensure professional operation of the front store, maintaining courteous customer service.

Inventory Management

  1. Maintain proper inventory control in line with budgets and supplier programs.
  2. Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  3. Set promotional objectives and ensure effective ordering and setup.
  4. Monitor competition and adapt promotions and product offerings accordingly.
  5. Verify invoices against purchase orders.
  6. Control shrinkage through effective management of returns and theft.
  7. Manage inventory reporting and cycle counts.
  8. Handle sales representatives and ensure all claims and returns are processed.
  9. Attend buying shows as necessary and prepare accordingly.
  10. Coordinate retail pricing and ensure compliance with store policy.
  11. Support the receiver in verifying discrepancies in costs and quantities.
  12. Ensure adequate stock of store supplies is maintained.

Merchandising

  1. Maintain planogram standards to ensure proper product placement.
  2. Oversee daily stock replenishment and facing of products.
  3. Coordinate signage and promotional materials for effective merchandising.
  4. Ensure adherence to merchandising standards at all times.

Corporate Collaboration

  1. Operate the front store in alignment with Neighbourly Pharmacy's guidelines.
  2. Participate in setting financial budgets and policy objectives.
  3. Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely communication with the accounting office.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, including purchasing and inventory control.
  2. Proven ability to drive business success and lead by example.
  3. Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
