Key Responsibilities

The Retail Store Supervisor is accountable for managing the front store (excluding pharmacy) operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a professional atmosphere among staff.

Store Management

  1. Lead initiatives to meet the store's strategic goals.
  2. Engage in professional development activities relevant to current and future roles.
  3. Guarantee outstanding customer service at all times.
  4. Enhance brand visibility through participation in industry events and community engagement.
  5. Implement company policies to cultivate a workplace that attracts and retains skilled employees.
  6. Ensure adherence to store policies by all staff, addressing violations appropriately.
  7. Oversee return policies, customer complaints, store security, and employee benefits.
  8. Manage cash handling, daily reporting, and banking activities.
  9. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures, including security measures.
  10. Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
  11. Foster positive relationships within the local business community.
  12. Ensure the front store presents a welcoming and professional image.

Staff Management

  1. Oversee front store personnel in all operational aspects.
  2. Train employees to ensure compliance with job responsibilities.
  3. Coordinate work schedules for front store staff.
  4. Supervise daily operations of front store personnel.
  5. Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  6. Maintain a professional atmosphere with courteous customer service.

Inventory Management

  1. Ensure effective inventory control across all departments.
  2. Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  3. Set promotional goals and oversee product ordering and display.
  4. Monitor market trends and adjust promotions and product offerings accordingly.
  5. Verify invoices against purchase orders for accuracy.
  6. Control shrinkage through effective policies and procedures.
  7. Manage inventory counts and reporting.
  8. Coordinate with sales representatives for order approvals and claims.
  9. Attend trade shows as necessary, ensuring proper preparation.
  10. Work with the receiver to maintain accurate pricing and stock levels.

Merchandising

  1. Ensure compliance with merchandising standards and planogram maintenance.
  2. Oversee daily stock replenishment and product placement.
  3. Coordinate promotional signage and materials.

Corporate Collaboration

  1. Operate the front store in alignment with corporate guidelines.
  2. Participate in budget setting and policy development.
  3. Maintain accurate records and timely communication with corporate offices.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience.
  2. Proven ability to drive business success and lead by example.
  3. Strong communication skills with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
