Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Retail Store Supervisor to oversee the front store operations in a vibrant community setting.

Key Responsibilities

The Retail Store Supervisor (RSS) will manage the front store operations (excluding pharmacy) while ensuring compliance with Neighbourly Pharmacy’s policies, fostering a professional environment, and supervising front store staff.

Store Management

  1. Drive initiatives to meet the store's strategic goals.
  2. Engage in professional development activities relevant to current and future roles.
  3. Guarantee exceptional customer service at all times.
  4. Enhance the Neighbourly Pharmacy brand through active participation in industry events and associations.
  5. Implement and uphold the Neighbourly Pharmacy policy manual to create a workplace that attracts and retains skilled and dedicated employees.
  6. Ensure compliance with store policies among all staff and take corrective actions when necessary.
  7. Oversee practices related to returns, complaints, store security, and employee discounts, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
  8. Manage cash handling, daily reporting, banking, and deposits.
  9. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures, including security alarm activation and end-of-day tasks.
  10. Maintain store cleanliness, security, and adherence to housekeeping standards.
  11. Project a warm, friendly, and service-oriented image to customers.
  12. Build strong relationships within the local business community.
  13. Ensure that all areas of the front store are kept clean, organized, and professional.

Staff Management

  1. Oversee front store personnel in all operational aspects.
  2. Train front store employees to ensure adherence to job responsibilities.
  3. Coordinate work schedules for front store staff.
  4. Supervise daily operations of front store personnel.
  5. Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed.
  6. Ensure the front store operates with professionalism and courteous customer service.

Inventory Management

  1. Ensure effective inventory control across all departments, adhering to budgets and supplier programs.
  2. Assist in budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  3. Set promotional goals and ensure proper ordering and setup for sales.
  4. Stay informed about market competition and adjust promotions and product offerings accordingly.
  5. Verify invoices against purchase orders for accuracy.
  6. Control shrinkage through effective management of returns, theft, and pricing guidelines.
  7. Manage the Monthly Cycle Count Schedule and inventory reporting.
  8. Engage with sales representatives to manage orders and claims effectively.
  9. Attend buying shows as necessary and prepare accordingly.
  10. Coordinate with the receiver to ensure proper retail pricing and stock maintenance.

Merchandising

  1. Maintain planogram standards to ensure optimal product placement and merchandising.
  2. Oversee daily stock replenishment and facing of all sections.
  3. Coordinate signage and promotional materials to enhance visibility.
  4. Ensure compliance with merchandising standards at all times.

Corporate Engagement

  1. Operate the front store in alignment with Neighbourly Pharmacy’s guidelines and objectives.
  2. Participate in establishing financial budgets and policy objectives.
  3. Maintain accurate records and timely communication with the accounting office.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, including purchasing and inventory control.
  2. Proven ability to drive business results and lead by example.
  3. Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
