As we navigate a pivotal moment in our journey, we aim to broaden our outreach and impact by engaging more Canadians in our cause.
Community Engagement CoordinatorIn this role, reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator will play a crucial part in enhancing Hope Story's supporter network throughout Southwestern Ontario and across Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Team Development – 40%
- Plan and/or facilitate 6-8 vision teams each year to involve key churches, volunteers, and donors in our mission.
- Create strategies and objectives to cultivate these team members into more engaged supporters (including monthly donations, significant contributions, and prayer support).
- Assist international staff in the coordination of team visits.
- Enhance and execute administrative processes to ensure the safe and effective deployment of teams.
- Conduct orientations and follow-up sessions.
- Church Relations – 20%
- Identify and create opportunities to connect with church leaders at various events.
- Collaborate with Hope Story staff, board members, and donors to generate new leads and expand our network of supportive churches in Canada.
- Work alongside the Executive Director to set clear and measurable objectives for our engagement with Canadian church partners.
- Volunteer Engagement – 20%
- Recruit and mobilize skilled volunteers who can lead vision teams and enhance Canadian awareness of Hope Story.
- Engage additional volunteers who will advocate for Hope Story within churches, participate in fundraising efforts, and raise awareness of our initiatives.
- Event Coordination & Miscellaneous – 20%
- Promote Hope Story events among supporters and churches.
- Provide communication support (including writing, video production, social media outreach, etc.) to enhance team promotion.
- Bachelor's degree in Theology or a related field.
- Experience working with Canadian churches or within a specific church community.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including international travel as well as travel within Canada and the USA.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Effective networking abilities.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
