About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Outreach Communications and Programming Coordinator to join our team at the University of Toronto's Centre for Indigenous Studies. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative programs and events that promote Indigenous cultures and languages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Design and implement effective communication strategies to promote events and programs.
  • Coordinate logistics and activities for events and programs, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement marketing and promotional materials, including social media, email campaigns, and print materials.
  • Provide administrative support to the Centre for Indigenous Studies, including data entry, expense tracking, and report preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a related field, preferably in a post-secondary education environment.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations, including planning and executing events and programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with social media and content management systems.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and content management systems.
