Indigenous Mentorship Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indigenous Mentorship Program Coordinator to join our team at George Brown College. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of our Indigenous Mentorship Program, working closely with students, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Develop and implement the Indigenous Mentorship Program, including recruitment, training, and matching of mentors and mentees.
- Program Oversight: Ensure the successful implementation of the program, including regular check-ins with mentees and mentors, and timely submission of monthly reports.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Event Planning: Organize and implement a minimum of two main events and a monthly group programming activity throughout the academic year.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including files for all current mentees and mentors, as well as pending mentors.
- Education: Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Social Sciences, Social Services, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience leading mentorship programs, with a strong understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by Indigenous students in post-secondary education.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
