Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indigenous Mentorship Program Coordinator to join our team at George Brown College. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of our Indigenous Mentorship Program, working closely with students, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Collaborate with the Indigenous Initiatives team to design and implement a comprehensive mentorship program that meets the needs of Indigenous students.
  • Mentor Recruitment and Training: Recruit, screen, and train mentors to work with Indigenous students, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective support.
  • Mentor-Mentee Matching: Facilitate the matching process between mentors and mentees, ensuring a strong and supportive relationship is established.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the program's effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement and ensuring the program meets the needs of Indigenous students.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with students, faculty, and staff to ensure the program is meeting its goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Social Sciences, Social Services, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience leading mentorship programs, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to student success and equity.
