We are currently in search of a casual Community Mental Health Worker 2 to become a vital part of our Youth Intensive Case Management (YICM) team.

Key Responsibilities:

The Youth Intensive Case Management Team is an interdisciplinary group dedicated to delivering case management services tailored to high-risk youth dealing with substance use issues, concurrent disorders, and/or mental health challenges. Prior experience working directly with youth and community mental health and substance use is essential.

The Community Mental Health Worker 2 plays a crucial role within the broader Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team, contributing to a specialized Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) multi-disciplinary team. This team is committed to ensuring individuals with severe and persistent mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders receive timely, responsive, and evidence-based psychosocial rehabilitation across a spectrum of available services.

Work Schedule:

Shifts are scheduled during the day, typically from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Expect to have 2-4 shifts available each week. This position is classified as Casual, meaning there are no guaranteed hours, and work requirements may fluctuate weekly. Many of our employees begin their careers in casual roles, which can lead to permanent or temporary positions.

Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  1. Completion of Grade 12
  2. Diploma in a relevant field
  3. Two years of recent experience working with the designated client population experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  4. Current valid B.C. Driver's License
