Position Overview

We are currently looking for a permanent part-time (0.64 FTE) Mental Health Community Support Specialist to become a vital part of our Mental Health Substance Use/injectable Opioid Agonist Treatment (iOAT) department.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is between $31.56 and $33.28 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will provide support for iOAT services. iOAT is a proven treatment method for individuals with severe opioid use disorder (OUD) who have not responded to traditional oral opioid agonist therapy (OAT).

Injectable treatments have shown improved retention in care, reduced illicit opioid use, and enhanced quality of life. This service is essential in the continuum of care for those dealing with OUD.

Administering doses must occur in a structured, supervised clinical environment, ensuring sterile supplies and safe conditions, overseen by qualified personnel trained to manage emergencies.

The position involves being part of a multidisciplinary team that offers comprehensive care, including primary health services, mental health support, and psychosocial assistance such as housing and employment resources.

Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Diploma in a relevant field
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience working with clients facing mental health and/or substance use challenges; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License
